Bluetooth Mesh Protocol Stack

Key Parameters

  • Complete Bluetooth Mesh Implementation
  • Nordic Semiconductor nRF52840 chipset
  • ARM Cordio Bluetooth Controller and Host

Project Overview

A major semiconductor client needed assistance in implementing the Bluetooth Mesh specifications over their existing Bluetooth LE controller and host components. Cloud2GND leveraged our extensive experience with Bluetooth Mesh, where we’ve been involved with the specifications since day one, and implemented a complete Bluetooth Mesh 1.0 implementation for our client.

We worked with our client to identify changes required to the underlying stack layer and to design the architecture for the new Bluetooth Mesh protocol components. We implemented all new software components for Bluetooth Mesh and authored and executed a comprehensive test plan covering unit and functional test of the new components. We also performed Bluetooth qualification testing to ensure complete specification compliance of the new protocol stack.

The Bluetooth Mesh protocol stack was released into open source and is now be found as part of the Packetcraft open source protocol stack software repo.
