We are excited to announce the release of the Aurawave Audio Framework v1.3 for the AW100 series of Bluetooth Auracast/LE Audio modules, along with a new graphical AW100 Configuration Tool for Windows and macOS. Cloud2GND continues its commitment to delivering reference-level Auracast Broadcast capabilities in a low-cost, easy-to-use module format.
The AW100 series makes incorporating Auracast and LE Audio into product designs and system installations painless. The AAF v1.3 release continues that focus with robust standards-based Auracast Broadcast/Source capabilities, along with enhanced Auracast Receiver/Sink functionality and numerous usability improvements.
Introducing the New AW100 Configuration Tool
We are proud to announce our new graphical AW100 Configuration Tool, a graphical application that simplifies setup, configuration, and firmware management.
Available for both Windows and macOS (Apple silicon, macOS 15+), the tool supports all major features of the latest AAF v1.3 firmware, making it easier to configure and operate AW100 modules without relying on AT commands.
With the new tool, users can:
- Configure AW100 modules for standalone operation without a host controller
- Configure broadcast stream names and audio parameters
- Discover and connect to nearby Auracast broadcasts
- Generate QR codes for Aurawave broadcasts
- Update AW100 firmware via USB
The new graphical interface simplifies configuration and reduces the time required to get Auracast-enabled products and systems up and running.
What’s New in Aurawave Audio Framework v1.3
A Better Auracast Broadcast Source
Retuned 48 kHz presets improve reception on phones and earbuds, including a new default high-reliability 48 kHz mode. New 24 kHz presets match what many phones and hearing aids support. Phones now show encrypted broadcasts and stream names when configured.
Enhanced Stand-alone Auracast Sink Receiver
Receivers can now search for a stream by prefix and connect or reconnect as the stream appears and disappears. This makes it easy to create a matched pair of AW100s that will always try to stay connected, or to build a receiver that reliably finds any matching stream based on the prefix name saved in flash configuration. True wireless stereo use cases are fully supported by configuring a preferred location tag for each receiver.
Improved AT interface and LED indications
Numerous improvements to the AT interface add new configuration and control capabilities and streamline handling of existing features. A new consistent default Bluetooth, audio device, and stream name based on unique IDs makes working with multiple AW100s much easier. Improved LED indications make module state clear at a glance.
USB Audio Class 2
USB audio input and output now work on all major platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. Just plug the AW100 into a laptop, desktop, or mobile device and you are streaming or receiving audio digitally.

The Aurawave AW100 Firmware v1.3 release and AW100 Configuration Tool are now available for download on the Cloud2GND website on the AW100 page, along with updated release notes and an improved AT command specification.
Existing AW100 users can update the firmware with just a few clicks using the AW100 Configuration Tool on Win/Mac.
